Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering

About

The department has started functioning right from the inception of College of Engineering Adoor and established as a separate department, as Department of Electrical Engineering in 2010. The department is offering the undergraduate course – B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 2011 onwards with an intake of 60 students per year. The department also handles various subjects in electrical engineering for other engineering streams in the college. The department is honored to have well qualified and experienced faculty and an equally zealous technical team.

The department has well equipped laboratories with internet facility and, has an Electrical Engineering Unit which maintains the 11kV substation, 139kW rooftop Solar Power Plant (SOURA Project), and undertakes necessary electrical maintenance of the College.

Laboratories and Facilities

Faculty in Charge – Prof. Dr. John George

Staff in Charge – Chinju P R, Biju K G

Electrical Workshop is intended to impart skills to plan and carry out simple electrical wiring. It is essential for the practicing engineers to identify the basic practices and safety measures in electrical wiring.

Faculty in Charge – Prof. Jain George

The electrical simulation lab in the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the College of Engineering Adoor is an additional Facility that gives students an opportunity to explore the domain outside the syllabus. The lab supports the simulation of innovative projects developed by the students and helps in browsing material for study. C programming lab for first years is also done in this lab. The lab can also be used for attending NPTEL classes provided by the institution. The lab is also equipped with an interactive type short throw projector used for online sessions. Licensed software like MATLAB, ORCAD, PSPICE, and E-TAP 16.0 which can be used for modeling and simulating electrical circuits are also provided in the lab.
